The recently built
SulAmérica Convention Center, formerly know as
"Rio Cidade Nova", inaugurated July/2007, hosted the
XXVII General Assembly of the IAU, in Rio, August/2009.
Located in the center of the city, by one of the Metro stations
(Estácio-RioCidadeNova) of the
Rio de
Janeiro city integrated transport system, precisely the one that integrates
two of the presently existing lines (map in PDF), the new center is
easily reached from almost everywhere in Rio, allowing many options
for affordable accommodation to the participants and registered guests.
