XXVII GENERAL ASSEMBLY

AUGUST 03 - 14, 2009 Rio de Janeiro - Brazil

Proceedings

The proceedings of the International Astronomical Union are published by the Cambridge University Press (CUP). They are high-quality and timely previews and reviews of fundamental and state-of-the-art astrophysical developments around the world, as presented at some ten IAU-sponsored conferences per year. The results are recorded in the Proceedings of its Symposia, in its Transactions A and B, and in its Highlights of Astronomy that contains the Proceedings of Joint Discussions and Special Sessions held at the triennial General Assemblies of the IAU. Subjects covered by the IAU Symposia and conferences are fundamental astronomy; the sun and heliosphere; planetary systems; stars and variable stars; interstellar matter; the galactic system; galaxies and the Universe; optical and infrared techniques; radio astronomy; and space and high-energy astrophysics. The Proceedings of these are published under the auspices of the IAU, as important records of the status of those scientific fields.

The delegates of the XXVII IAU General Assembly will be able to pre-order their issues of the IAU Proceedings with a 50% discount on copies of the IAU Proceedings of Symposia held at the General Assembly, as well as on the associated Transactions and Highlights volumes. This discount is available exclusively for those fully registered to the meeting, and is only to delegates who order before the end of the General Assembly.
