Travel Grants

The IAU spends roughly one third of its income on grants for participation in
the annual nine IAU Symposia, in the annual Regional IAU Meeting, and in the
triennial IAU General Assembly.
The period for application for IAU Travel Grants to participate of the IAU
XXVII GA in August 2009 was 1 November 2008 till 1 March 2009 (the application period is OVER!). More than 700 applications were received and recipients of IAU
Travel Grants will be informed by 1 April 2009.
The guidelines for applying for an IAU Travel Grant to attend the IAU XXVII GA
are described in
Grants to General Assembly Events.
Please note that the award of an IAU Travel Grant does not imply in any way a
waiver of the Registration Fee. Travel Grants will be handed to the recipients
on site upon final registration at the GA Registration Desk, in cash or check.
Recipients do have to pay the Registration Fee in full.
